The Educator Perspective…

Greetings my fellow color junkies!

This month I’ve decided that it’s time for you to hear from someone other than myself!  Our guest blogger, Dana Nucifora is a very talented member of the Lakme USA team and an educator and salon manager at our very own Artistic Academy! I will tell you this my friends- I had the opportunity recently to spend some time with several of the seniors while facilitating a Techniques class at the school- I can say, unabashedly, that I was floored at the skill and knowledge  that these students displayed. Quite frankly, I never expected to see that type of dexterity and professionalism. It’s truly a testament to Artistic Academy- they’re building strong foundations and setting impeccable standards for our up and coming artists. Aha! I found it! The best color line ever.

In every salon I’ve worked in, we have had to put together a mish mash of color products (color, developer, bleach, etc.) to create a fully functional dispensary. With Lakme, the work is done for you.

I have never worked with a color line that has kept the elasticity, porosity, and overall integrity of the hair intact.  By using ingredients like Jojoba Oil and Soy Protein Complex, Lakme can add shine, luster and greatly improve the hair’s overall look and feel while still creating vibrant color trends. Even the developer takes part in ensuring the client’s comfort and complete satisfaction by including Boswellia, which reduces scalp irritation.

Lakme also includes additional products that protect the scalp and equalize the porosity of the hair. I have never heard of a color line that has professional products like these to help the colorist achieve the desired results. As an educator, it is imperative that I have products to teach with that not only do what they’re supposed to, but do it easily and effectively.  It is important that your client not only looks good when they leave the salon, but that they are offered easy ways of maintaining their look between visits.  For example, color clients can take home Lakme’s Colour Stay Shampoo to keep their color’s vibrancy until their next visit.

For Dana’ s Rock Star Red-

Decolorize  top of the head in a star pattern using k.blonde decolorizer mixed with 30 volume for the shaft and 10 volume for the roots- lift to level 7 (orange)

Tone star with 6/59 and 0/90 Gloss with  6 Volume Long Lasting Developer.

Apply 5/50 Gloss with 6 Volume Long Lasting Developer on the bottom perimeter of the head.
